EF-NETWORKS- A FINITE ELEMENTS PROGRAM
FOR THE ANALYSIS OF FLOW IN POROUS MEDIA
EF-REDES
is a finite elements program used to calculate
flow in porous media. It uses three-dimensional elements
with 6 faces and 32 nodes, which permits cubic variation
of the energy within each element. It also uses the
frontal method of solving equations in order to solve
problems involving a large number of elements on a personal
computer.
EF-REDES
may be used for the solution of confined and unconfined
flow problems in homogeneous and non-homogeneous, isotropic
or non-isotropic media.
It has been used in the
design of drainage systems in sanitary landfills and
slopes, in the calculation of the porous pressure to
be applied in slope stability, and in the solution of
numerous real problems involving ground water flow.
